本文旨在揭示中国英语专业研究生书面表达中强调词的使用特点,同时对比分析中国英语专业研究生与美国英语专业研究生在使用频率方面的异同。结果显示:中国英语专业研究生与美国英语专业研究生在强调词的使用总频率上具有较高的一致性。然而进一步发现,他们显著多用增强程度词而少用近似词和降低程度词,对某几个词的超用或少用导致对某一类强调词的超用或少用。
The purpose of this paper is to reveal the characteristics of the use of the emphasized words in the written expressions of Chinese English majors and to compare and analyze the similarities and differences in the frequency of use between Chinese English majors and American English majors. The results show that Chinese English majors and American English majors have a higher consistency in emphasizing the total frequency of using words. However, it was further found that they significantly increased their use of degree of reinforcement rather than approximation and reduction in degree, and the over- or under-utilization of certain words led to the over- or under-utilization of certain categories of emphasis.
