When we comment on a translation work, we will usually com-pare the translated version with the original one. The procession to formulate the principles or criteria of translation always depends on the peoples realization and comprehension of the relation between the original work and its translation. In both Chinese and west translation history, many scholars held lots of different point of views on the relationship between the original work and its translat-ed version. In this article, the author would like to compare these concepts from the hermeneutic view.
