Described in the present paper is the evolution of the concept of “clarke” introduced byA. E. Fersman. Based on the data available in literature, the atomic clarkes of chemical ele-ments in the earth’s crust were computed and the logarithmic distribution curves were drawnby means of the micro-computer (PC1500). Volume percentages of the chemical elements inthe orust were also computd and the logarithmic curves also drawn. Finally, the isotopic abun-dances of each element in the crust were computed.
