Medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) is formed by condensation of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) with glycerol. For more than ten years, there have been a series of biochemical changes in the physiological role of MCT in foreign countries and in the clinical application of certain diseases. Nutrition and clinical studies, but most are performed using MCTs prepared with C_8 and C_(10) acids. MCTs prepared from C_9 and C_11 acids have only sporadic research reports in recent years.
