As one of Kundera’s post-immigrant works, “Ignorance” tells the reader from his unique perspective the story of the exiles who were forced to leave the motherland for many years. This article uses the theory of postmodern decentralization in identity model to interpret the novel and analyzes the process in which the heroine Elaine, who has a dual identity, constantly looks for self-identity between the motherland and the naturalized nation.
