Objective To investigate the correlation between the expression of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) and transforming growth factor-β1 (TCF-β1) and the occurrence of intrauterine adhesions, and provide evidence for the prevention of the recurrence of intrauterine adhesions. Methods Sixty patients with intrauterine adhesions admitted to our hospital from January 2013 to January 2016 were selected as the observation group. According to the intrauterine adhesions, they were divided into mild adhesion group, moderate adhesion group and severe adhesion group. Another 60 cases of non-uterine adhesions in the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of CTGF and TCF-β1 in the endometrium and in the adhesion tissue of the observation group and the control group were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results Compared with the control group, the level of CTGF and the level of TCF-β1 in the endometrial tissue of the observation group were significantly increased (P <0.05), while the expression of CTGF and TCF-β1 in the endometrium And adhesion tissue, CTGF level and TCF-β1 level in the adhesion tissue of patients with mild, moderate and severe adhesion were significantly higher than those in endometrial tissue (P <0.05). The expression of CTGF and TCF-β1 in endometrium and adhesion tissue increased with the degree of intrauterine adhesions increasing, with statistical significance (P <0.05). The Pearson correlation analysis showed that CTGF And the expression of TCF-β1 in endometrium and adhesion tissue (r = 0.613, P <0.05). Conclusions The expression of CTGF and TCF-β1 in endometrium and adhesions increased gradually with the degree of intrauterine adhesions, which may be involved in the development of intrauterine adhesions. The expressions of CTGF and TCF-β1 were positively correlated.
