曾国藩是中国近代史上一位备受争议的重要人物,在中国近代出版史上,因其创办金陵书局而占有一席之地。同治三年(1864),曾国藩在南京创办金陵书局,专司官府刻书事务,从而改变了以往官府刻书多由州县学官或官办书院负责的状况,并带动了之后各地方官办书局的纷纷设立。应该说,曾国藩与金陵书局对其后风云际变时期的清末民初的出版业产生了一定的影响,也为后世留下了许多可贵的资料。曹凤翔博士对清代出版史料广有关注,他从一个全新的角度入手,以文学笔触和史学研究相结合的方法,撰写了《曾国藩与金陵书局》一书,展示了曾国藩由学子继人臣继创办金陵书局的过程全貌,可谓独树一帜。本刊从本期起将有选择地连载《曾国藩与金陵书局》,以期读者在了解这段历史的同时,也收获到阅读的快乐。
