湖北图书馆是我国历史最悠久的公立图书馆之一,张之洞创办的两湖书院南北书库为其源头。今年适逢其百年馆庆,特撰小文以资纪念。少年时代已经是相当遥远的过去了,我又是一个对生活细节易于遗忘的人,因此每当与儿时旧友谈论往事,多半只有洗耳恭听的份,难以插上嘴。当然也有例外,脑海中有些往事并未如烟,例如8岁至18岁在湖北省图书馆的一段泛舟书海的经历,不少情景还历历在目,鲜明如昨。我的母亲张秀宜(1901—1971)解放前作中小学教员,解放初到湖北省图书馆工作,负责儿童阅览室,直到1962年退休。我是五兄弟中最小的一个,大概也是随慈母左右时间最长的一个。自小学二、三年级开始,我每天从武昌实验小学步行半小
Hubei Library is one of the oldest public libraries in our country. Zhang Zhidong founded the North-South Bookstore of Lianghu College as its source.
