The thermo-elastic-plastic stress finite element mathematical model of continuous casting slab in mold was established. In the thermo-elasto-plastic constitutive equation, the mechanical properties of materials are considered, and the variation of yield function with temperature and strain rate is considered. Emphatically studied the influence of the air gap on the stress distribution of the shell. The results show that when the corner of the shell has obvious air gap formation, the billet corner area becomes the hot zone.
