Arsenic compounds have been used in medicine for more than 2,400 years in our country. Since the 1990s, Chinese scholars applied Arsenic Trioxide (As2O3) to treat acute promyelocytic leukemia and have been successful since, people conducted in-depth study of arsenic compounds and found that As2O3 is not only effective for all kinds of leukemia, the other a variety of malignant Tumors also have a good therapeutic effect. As2O3 mainly exerts anti-tumor effects by inhibiting tumor cell growth and tumor angiogenesis, inducing partial differentiation and apoptosis of tumor cells and the like. This article not only summarizes the above issues, but also looks forward to the newly developed gene expression profiling technology --- Gene chip technology in the study of As2O3 mechanism of application prospects.
