长白傅余庵(1850—1916)先生,满族,富察氏,名荣庆,一作莹庆,字多文,号余庵,光绪秀才,福州驻防,政余之暇,躭于吟咏,精于书画,尤工花鸟草虫。清末海上画派兴起,宗法扬州诸家,而有所发展,名家辈出,在中国绘画史上占有重要的地位。余庵先生家藏法书、名画甚富,居福州城东,筑多文草堂,传摹移写,功力甚深,时论其田园生活作品,风格独标,内容新颖,远在扬州诸家,近在任伯年、吴昌硕之间,应无愧色。此花鸟草虫册,为图二十四开,分装上下二册,每开纵8.2、横12.8厘米,设色淡雅,状物写生,各具神韵。作于光绪己亥、
