A total of 43 health food products sold in Shenzhen from 1995 to 1996 were tested and analyzed for the content of 8 trace elements including copper, zinc, iron, manganese, chromium, nickel, tin and selenium. The results showed that the contents of 6 elements of copper, manganese, selenium, chromium, nickel and tin were in the same order of magnitude compared with the content of common food, the difference between zinc and iron was large, and the highest content of zinc was 1715 × 10 -6 (ie mg / Kg), the highest iron content of 2558 × 10-6. Most of the urban residents in our country have the conditions to achieve a balanced diet and be able to obtain sufficient quantities of essential trace elements from daily ordinary foods. Dietary supplements containing micronutrients can be used as a means of supplementing the body with nutrients in special circumstances. At the same time, attention should be paid to the possible problems caused by the high levels of trace elements in some health foods.
