The 10 MW high-temperature gas-cooled experimental reactor was built on June 14, 1995 in the Nuclear Energy Technology Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University. It is one of fifteen major projects of the national “863” program and is the first advanced high-temperature gas-cooled nuclear reactor that can be used for power generation and heating in China. It plans to build it by 2000. It will create conditions for the large-scale development of nuclear energy in the 21st century in China. Important features The vast majority of reactors used in nuclear power generation and nuclear heating in the world today are pressurized water reactors. They are fuel elements encapsulated with metal zirconium tubes, water (or heavy water) as a moderator and coolant, and reactors. The outlet temperature is not high. high temperature
