潇湘题材绘画是中国古代绘画史中的一个非常重要的母题,也是湖湘艺术发展史中值得探讨的重要话题。六朝至两宋潇湘题材画的审美旨趣经历了一个由政治道德伦理的表现,到对客体的具体写真描摹;从具体写真描摹到抽象概念;从抽象概念,最后上升到简约空灵的过程。这一过程的出现既是当时历史发展的客观写照,又与文人士大夫的心路历程息息相关。
Xiaoxiang theme painting is a very important motif in the history of ancient Chinese painting and also an important topic worth exploring in the history of the art development in Hunan. The aesthetic purport of Xiaoxiang’s theme paintings from the Six Dynasties to the Song Dynasties experienced a performance from the moral ethics of politics to the concrete pictorial depictions of the objects; from the concrete pictorial to the abstract concepts; from the abstract concepts to the simple and ethereal processes. The appearance of this process is not only an objective portrayal of the historical development at that time, but also closely related to the mentality of literati and doctor.
