This book is another novel by Robin Cork, the author of The Sphinx, and has been made into a movie release. Robin Cork, a graduate of Columbia University School of Medicine and an ophthalmologist, often uses the medical profession as a theme. Coma, published in 1977, is a novel that reveals the shady aspects of the American medical community. Describing Susan Wheeler, a medical college graduate, as suspicious of long-term coma after surgery in a hospital, she defied heavy resistance and finally exposed some of the most prestigious medical authorities. Intentionally causing the patient coma, removal of human organs, the black market in the shady profits. With novel and unique subjects, the work exposes the reader to the deeds of capitalist society through the use of bloody facts, thus denouncing the significance of society. There are more medical descriptions in the novel, which certainly help us to increase medical knowledge, but in some places it is too complicated and even dilute the theme, so the editors made some abridgement.
