自2001年《全日制义务教育数学课程标准(实验稿)》对“估算”提出明确的要求和目标以来,估算及其教学越来越引起关注,但在课程设计和教学实践中出现了以下问题:什么时候需要估算?估算的方法有哪些?估算的结果如何评价?本文通过比较、分析中美两国数学课程标准对估算的教学要求以及中美小学数学教材的几则实例,尝试提出估算教学的若干策略。
