This article examines how developing countries that lack malaria case reports estimate direct and indirect economic losses from malaria through home visit surveys. Piloting Solenzo near the area of Malaria, northwestern Burkina Faso, a landlocked West African country, the population of the area is more than 160,000. From April to May 1985, a total of 6242 6442 people were investigated. Criteria for malaria answer as peasants consider themselves malaria, or fever within 7 days without additional comorbidity
