The images of mothers of Chinese descended from the first batch of immigrants are constantly appearing in the works of writers who rise one after another. They often experience the image change of the guides of the “other” children who can not be assimilated to the “self” orientation of their children. From the perspective of image research, this change reflects the psychological course and ideology of Chinese-American writers looking for themselves. From the avoidance of one’s own Chinese attribute to the dual subject of facing up to one’s “otherness” identity and rational reconstruction “Self”, using this identity to move toward the center from the edge to obtain American attributes.
