Determination of trace amounts of calcium in high-purity alkali metals and their salts by atomic absorption spectroscopy fails to achieve sufficient accuracy and sensitivity due to matrix effects and other coexisting elements. We used the method of extraction and separation in the experiment to explore the determination of trace amounts of calcium in alkali metals and their salts. Experiments show that in the case of pH = 12, 8-hydroxyquinoline - isoamyl alcohol solution extraction can be quantitative extraction of calcium.
