由广州大学人文学院和岭南历史文化研究所合办的“明清以来中西文化交流与岭南社会变迁” 学术讨论会,于2002年7月27～29日在广州大学学术交流中心举行。来自中国内地各省市和香港地区的学者近百人参加了会议,与会者提交论文60余篇,就以下几个问题进行了广泛的探讨。 一、关于岭南在中西文化交流中的地位和作用 岭南处在中西文明的交汇点上,在中西文化交流中起着独特而举足轻重的作用。中山大学蔡鸿生教授在大会报告中,对中国与西方、文化与社会、岭南与内地以及研究岭南文化的方法,作了深刻的阐述。香港大学赵令扬教授对岭南中西文化交流的历史模式 The Symposium on “Sino-Western Cultural Exchanges and Lingnan Social Changes Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties” co-organized by the Humanities Institute of Guangzhou University and Lingnan History and Culture Institute was held at the Academic Exchange Center of Guangzhou University from July 27 to July 29, 2002. Nearly 100 scholars from scholars from various provinces and cities in mainland China and Hong Kong attended the conference. The participants submitted over 60 papers and conducted extensive discussions on the following issues. I. Position and Function of Lingnan in Sino-Western Cultural Exchanges Lingnan is located at the intersection of Chinese and Western civilizations and plays a unique and pivotal role in the exchange of Chinese and Western cultures. In his report on the conference, Professor Cai Hongsheng of Sun Yat-sen University made a profound exposition of the ways in which China and the West, the culture and society, the Lingnan and the Mainland, and the Lingnan culture.
