Peptide growth factor regulates many of the processes in vitro that is essential for theprocess of normal ocular wound healing,in-cluding migration, mitosis, proliferation anddifferentiation of the cells. The cultured cells, animal models and clinical trial have demon-straed that the peptide growth factor, one of themost important,is the epidermal growth factor(EGF),plays key roles in the regulating normalocular surface wound healing in vitro and vivo.Although much about the effects of EGF and itsreceptors in ocular surface development andwound healing remains to be understood.thepublished studies have partially provided insightinto the understanding about the role of EGF andEGFR family on the development and woundhealing on the ocular surface.
