江西省万年县委,县政府在胜利实现“八五”以珍珠为龙头水产生产发展计划的基础上,最近又出台“在水中再造一个万年”的实施意见。 “在水中再造一个万年”工程总体规划分两步实施。第一步,继续坚持以珍珠生产为主导,以发展甲、鳗鱼等其它特种水产为突破口,带动常规水产和珍珠加工业的发展,努力提高水产生产力和水产商品率。到2000年全县水产品总产值要相当于同年粮食、棉花等作物的产值3.3亿元。第二步,继续开发利用好池塘,湖泊、水库、河沟,进一步养好珍珠及其它特种水产和常规鱼类,并加快珍珠加工业和运销业的发展,以提高水产生产的综合经济效益。到2005年全县水产品总产值力争高于同年的耕地产值4.5亿元。 为把目标落到实处,县里专门成立以县长为组

The second step is to continue to develop and make good use of ponds, lakes, reservoirs and river ditches, to further raise pearl and other special aquatic products and conventional fishes, and to speed up the development of pearl processing and transportation industries so as to increase the comprehensive economic benefits of aquatic products production. By 2005, the county’s total output value of aquatic products will strive to be higher than the farmland output value of 450 million yuan in the same year.
