In this paper, the spectroscopic characteristics of Cassiterite from Yunlong tin ore are discussed, and their geological significance is further studied. According to the spectral shape, the absorption peak intensity and the frequency characteristic of the infrared spectrum of the Yunlong cassiterite, it can be divided into two main types (type A and type B). Cassiterite composition and structural changes are the root causes of differences in the infrared spectrum. Comparison of infrared spectra shows that the A-type spectrum is similar to that of cassiterite in the Nb-Ta-Ta granite-type and Pegmatite-type tin deposits, while the B-type spectrum is the same as that of cassiterite in the hydrothermal-tin deposits. According to the macroscopic geological studies, it shows that the Yunlong cassiterite is formed in the oxide phase and the sulfide phase, the former has the A-type infrared spectrum and the latter has the B-type spectrum
