In the 1990s, a few European and American economic geographers began to devote themselves to the development of evolutionary economic geography and attracted more and more attention. The evaluation of this new trend of economic geography is less involved in scholarship, whether it is a new theoretical paradigm, or “new bottled old wine ”? This article attempts to answer this question. After examining the historical relationship between economics and economic geography, the first part of this paper finds that, like other heresy economic geographies, evolutionary economic geography is the historical product of the era in which economics and geography are closely linked. The second part compares 20 The emergence of institutional economic geography after the 1980s, the relationship between economic geography and evolutionary economic geography of the similarities and differences; the third part discusses the evolutionary economic geography methodology in the process of building problems; the last part, clearly pointed out that the evolution of economic geography Whether it can become the mainstream paradigm of economic geography depends not only on the theoretical contribution of the economic evolution geographers to economic geography but also on the relationship between the evolutionary economic geography and other contemporary schools of economic geography.
