They are the natural components of the body’s immune system, and have anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-virus effects. Many antimicrobial peptides have anti-tumor activity and also have unique advantages in terms of cell selectivity and drug resistance. This article reviews the antitumor mechanism of antimicrobial peptides and their applications.
