Dioxide (ClO2) is an oxidized product of chlorine-containing substances and other substances. It is a broad-spectrum and highly effective disinfectant. Because of disinfection does not produce carcinogenic organic chloride, WHO has been designated as A1-class safety disinfectant. To further understand its performance, we conducted a pilot study from November 1996 to January 1997, and the results are reported below. 1 Methods and Results 1.1 Quantitative disinfection test E. coli (ATCC25
