In 1981, Fujiki et al. first discovered that Dihydroteleoci-dinB is a tumor promoter that is a mouse carcinogen. It is a hydrogenated derivative of the indole alkaloid, teleeoidin, which is isolated from Streptomyces mediocidicus. In this study, tissue culture was used to study the effect of this tumor promoter on murine leukemia virus (MuLV) expression. The cell line used in the experiment was C3H2K. This is a cell line established from neonatal C3H/He mouse kidney cells. This cell is very sensitive to contact inhibition. Also used at the same time
