R系列是一项国际通行的基础标准,我国亦已采用,制订了相应的国家标准。随着生产的发展,出现了一些R系列解决不了的问题。目前国外已有部分标准化工作人员着手研究二进系列问题,本文拟就这个问题作一介绍.首先应当开清楚这样一个问题,为什么要提出研究二进系列,R系列究光在什么问题上失去效力呢?要回答这个问题,有必要简要回顾一下R系列。R系列是法国一位海军军官查理·雷诺(Charles Renad)为了解决气球系索直径种类过多的问题而建立的一种尺寸系列选择理论。这是一种几何级数系列,以保证系列的级差越大,尺寸本身也越大。就是说,建立一种共对数是算术级数的数系。如:
