International Atomic Energy Agency Nobel Killing Special attention to the nutritional needs of children One in every 10 newborns in developing countries survives less than 5 years of age and the total number of children who die each year exceeds 10 million. More than half of these aborted children are caused by undernutrition. Obviously, we must take action to deal with this emergency, and the International Atomic Energy Agency is working to that end. Through three events in 2006, 2007 and in Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America, the International Atomic Energy Agency has been disseminating the benefits of stable isotope techniques in developing and monitoring intervention programs to reduce malnutrition, particularly in infants and young children, information.
