The Icelandic government has passed a new law that will allow all foreign fishing vessels to enter the Icelandic ports for unloading of fish since March 1992 and foreign fishing vessels will also be able to utilize all service facilities in Icelandic ports. In the Danish Strait in western Iceland, there are many fishery resources such as cod, pomfret, sea bass, shrimp and capelin so many of them are in Denmark, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Norway, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan and Russia Fishing vessels and research vessels in countries and regions often operate in this area.
