韵作为中国美学的一个重要范畴 ,在南朝时期业已出现 ,但其真正成熟则是在宋代的绘画美学发展中。韵的内涵经过了一个嬗变的历程 ,是由客观写实到主观写意的转换。韵的一个重要内涵就是有象外之意。这一点又是与诗学中的“境”互相契合的。韵又更多地表现为主体心意的高扬 ,在这方面深受禅学的影响。“平远”的构图范式 ,是韵得以产生的重要条件。水墨画法也是韵的生成基础。由此而形成的平淡风格 ,也是与韵有着不解之缘的
