“Dada Dada, Dada Dada ...” A burst of rapid gunshots, a series of roaring bullets, pierced the blue sky, breaking the quiet mountain. In an instant, all 10 targets on the hillside were blossomed and the cheers of the girls sounded in the valley. This is a recent photo shoot of the girls in the Mazu Village Women’s Militia Department of Qiawang District, Jiawang District, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. These peasant girls who came from “advanced units in reserve service work for grass-roots militaries in all parts of the country” loved using red dress and loved the armed forces. They wrote anecdotal stories with sentimental youth and quietly interpreted the demeanor of the female militiamen in the new era.
