石榴盆景《汉魂》(见本刊1998年第三期彩页)获第四届中国盆景评比展览金奖,第四届亚太地区盆景赏石会议展览铜奖。十几年的精心养护所花费的心血,终得回报,作者感到欣慰。此桩原是山区村宅围墙边一棵百年石榴树,主干已枯死,副干也奄奄一息。作者向老山民索取副干挖掘回来。用沙土各半种植在大土缸中,始终保持盆土湿润,置于全光照下,冬季进房(不进暖房)。经过5年,不断更换土壤,精心养护,培育成活开花,第6年开始结果,果数都在7～12只,果重每只350克左右。红皮红子。每年挂果开裂至春节后正月十五摘除。果晶亮甘甜,是园内盆景中最受来宾赞赏名品之一。由于此石榴树历尽百年风雨,树干已枯成空洞,只有块线状皮成活。作者在1990年看到皮线已隆起成活,稳定旺盛树势,于是对树干进行加工,即把腐朽部分清除,保留坚硬木质 Pomegranate bonsai “Han soul” (see the publication 1998 third color pages) won the gold medal in the fourth China Bonsai appraisal show, the fourth bronze medal in Asia Pacific Bonsai Stones Exhibition.
