王国维的《人间词话》除却以“境界”来衡量词体的美感之外,还倾向于以“隔与不隔”作为其衡量标准的核心,这种审美趋向有别于长久以来中国传统的文体论调。在先后接受叔本华、席勒等西方美学思想的基础上,他开始以一种全新的视角去品鉴中国古典诗词这一艺术载体,并将此奉为自己竭力追寻的审美理想。这一审美理想贯穿于词话之中,并对中国现代美学产生了深远的影响。
