中国电影能不能『走向世界』电影走向世界首先碰到这样一个问题:不同社会制度、不同意识形态的电影,能不能走向世界?具体来说,我们中国电影要不要参加世界的电影节?要不要去参加各种国际比赛?长期以来,这个问题在理论上没有解决。……不少同志,直至一些领导同志,观念上没有解决,以至我们这么一个伟大的国家,到现在没有举办过国际电影节。……我说,如果文艺没有共同的东西的话,那就不能理解,为什么全世界都在研究《红楼梦》?为什么全世界都在上演莎士比亚的戏?为什么全世界都喜欢托尔斯泰?由于这个理论问题没有解决,我们即使参加电影节,也是老处在一种非常被动的情况下。
