精神损害赔偿制度,是我国民法理论和实践中的一项新的制度。在过去的几十年中,我国相关法律作出了较为全面的规定,但还存在一定不足,远没有跟上社会的发展和人们的现实需要。完善我国精神损害赔偿制度,对有效防止和制裁侵权行为,更大限度地维护当事人合法权益,具有重要意义。
