金柑原产我国,栽培历史悠久,由于丰产、稳产、耐寒、耐瘠、抗旱、抗病虫力较强,可作经济栽培或庭园观赏。果皮味极甜,富含维生素A、P及芳香油,对防治眼病、高血压、哮喘等病有特殊功效,南方江浙一带对满树垂金的金柑视为珍品;近年各地广为种植,宁波、广州等地为主栽的内、外销品种。 金柑繁殖一般需要两年育砧,三年嫁接出圃。选最优砧木最快也需二年。Castle.W.S(1980)用枳橙(Citrange)种子出苗后3～4个月嫁接哈姆林甜橙(HamlinSweet Orange)微芽,12个月便可栽植。但需要温室加温、蒸发、冷却、通风等成套的空调设备。广东万山红农场用出苗6个月的红柠檬优等苗夏栽,大寒嫁接金柑、金桔,二年成苗。1980年起我们进行芽苗嫁接研究,目的是利用砧木初萌芽苗生长愈合力强的
