Japan is a country with frequent natural disasters. In its historical development, it is an eternal topic to deal with disasters. Disaster research is one of the most important topics in Japan’s natural sciences and humanities and social sciences. Especially on March 11, 2011, the tragedy caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Great Earthquake and the Great Tsunami in the Kanto region of Japan caused the human being to feel the power of nature. The ensuing nuclear accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant caused people to think more about the connection between natural, social and human factors in disasters. The history of Japan Disasters edited by Kitanohara Son is an academic book of general history. It was published in 2006 and published by Yoshikawa Hirokazu, known for publishing academic works. So far reprinting, especially in the year after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, was reprinted twice. This reflects not only Japan today
