土工网格是在土工格栅平面结构的基础上发展起来的三维加固系统。自８０年代法国研制开发以来至９０年代美国军工用于沙漠风暴中的公路、机场路施工，短短十余年时间，在世界各地均有不同程度的应用。我国在塔克拉玛干沙漠腹地进行首次应用，取得了明显的经济及社会效益。
The geogrid is a three-dimensional reinforcement system developed on the basis of the planar structure of the geogrid.
