Beijing Youth Daily recently commented on whether grading of Chinese movies should be graded or not. The grading has been debated for many years. This time, the horrors of horrifying girls in Tianjin and elsewhere have become more apparent. In fact, no matter whether there is any similar incident, the Chinese movie should have been graded as well. The commentary argues that the classification of the film is an inevitable result of the full marketization of the film industry. The necessity of the film classification system is self-evident. The reason is also very simple. I just do not know why the relevant departments will still not get a charter. This undoubtedly greatly limits the development of domestic video market. The film developed to the 21st century, the WTO has blocked our doorstep, and if further delay, I do not know how we will be “in line with the international market.”
