刺槐根系发达,萌蘖性强,耐干旱,耐瘠薄;生长快,材质好,适于做矿柱、船只、农具以及运动器材.刺槐不仅是营造水土保持林的先锋树种,而且是优质的速生丰产用材树种.刺槐速生丰产林的经营期较短,一般要求10年择伐～15年主伐(皆伐).主伐时每亩蓄积量10立米左右.
