我与蒋维崧教授相识、相处到最后担任他的工作助手,其间共二十八年,最使我刻骨铭心的,就是他矢志问学的立场、态度和精神。先举我经历的几件事作为旁证:八十至九十年代,我有机会调到南京艺术学院或南京师大书法专业任教,向他征求意见,他立即摇头反对。后来,学校有意安排我去组建艺术系,去征求他的意见,他同样立即摇头反对。在我和他一起招收书法方向博士生期间,学校有关领导曾设想我与另外几位教授在别一学科组建一个书法方向的博士点,他又以"专业 I met Professor Jiang Weisong and met his last job aide. He shook his head immediately and opposed him. Later, the school intends to arrange me to form an art department to solicit his opinion, and he immediately shook his head in opposition. While I was enrolled with him in doctoral direction in calligraphy, the relevant leaders of the school had envisaged me and a few other professors set up a doctoral program in other disciplines in the direction of calligraphy.
