Toni Morrison’s novel “Beloved” tells of the physical and spiritual trauma caused by slavery and other poisones to Negroes, but Morrison emphasizes not only misery and trauma itself, but more importantly provides one A remedy for black trauma. The novel shows that the fate of the heroines, Seth, points out that the black slaves should get out of the shadow of suffering and heal the wounds of the soul. They must recall the memories after a brief forgetfulness and embrace the new life in the benign balance between memory and forgetting.
