The average altitude of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China is 4000m, with an area of 2500000km2. The main features of the plateau climate are: the atmospheric pressure is much lower than that in the plain; the temperature is greatly affected by the solar radiation, so the daily temperature difference is large; the climate is cold and the temperature in the plateau is obviously lower than that in the plain with the same latitude. In addition, the climate is dry, strong ultraviolet radiation is also very prominent. The impact of high altitude areas on aviation life-saving is mainly the hypodense, cold, dry climate, ultraviolet radiation and alpine snow on the human eye glare. One of the most serious impact on the human body is the lack of oxygen plateau. Severe hypoxia at an altitude of 6000m or more, breathing significantly accelerated, headache, dizziness, cyanosis, awareness and low judgment, until the loss of consciousness, or the development of pulmonary edema, cerebral edema and death. Rescue capabilities from the search point of view, due to poor living environment, reducing the ability of human activities, ground search and rescue activities difficult. High altitude terrain ups and downs, the relative height of the mountain is not high, good visibility, easy to contact for help, pilots carry distress liaison items can effectively play a role in favor of aerial search and rescue. Based on the above characteristics, we believe that the principle of aviation rescue should be based on strengthening air search capability in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. High-altitude aviation rescue units should be set up and equipped with excellent performance helicopters with search and rescue missions, while training flight crews and search and rescue workers in the plateau areas.
