This article addresses the role of common and new components in passive EW receivers. First define the areas of electronic warfare but focus on intercepting radar in the microwave frequency band. It then reviews operating parameters for a variety of commonly used receiver components, including demultiplexers, crystal video, instantaneous frequency measurement (IFM) and superheterodyne receivers. The focus is on modularity, digital control and a mix of components. The following is a brief description of Cutlass electronic warfare equipment. The new components for surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices and acousto-optic (AO) Bragg cells are then introduced, and their importance in channelized receivers, instantaneous frequency measurement systems and micro-sweep receivers is demonstrated. Finally, draw some conclusions.
