Environmental historiography is a new historical field that rose in the 1960s and 1970s in the United States. It is a multidisciplinary product of the study of the relationship between man and the environment based on history. Among them, human geography and environmental history are closely related. From the point of view of the human geography of Ahmad Manjar, environmental history has its own connection and difference with human geography both in the definition, the object of study and the methodological principle. The basis for this connection is that they are all devoted to exploring the relationship between humans and the environment. However, due to their specific understanding of this relationship and the different aims of the research, there are differences between the two. A clear understanding of this issue will help us better grasp the object and focus of the study of environmental history so as to promote the development of environmental historiography in our academic field.
