病毒性脑膜炎的临床表现为发烧、头痛、恶心、呕吐、精神差、嗜睡、食欲不好等。检查有脑膜刺激征,一般血象正常。脑脊液检查无色透明,压力稍高,白细胞增高(一般在200个/立方毫米以下),糖及氯化物正常。病源包括多种病毒,如脊髓灰质炎Ⅰ～Ⅲ型,Coxsakie A 组第2、4、7、9和 B 组第Ⅰ～Ⅴ型,ECHO 第1～7、9、11～16、18、19、21、23型,流行性腮腺炎、淋巴球性脉络脉脑膜炎、单纯泡疹病毒等。

Sources include a variety of viruses, such as poliomyelitis type Ⅰ ~ Ⅲ, Coxsakie A group of 2,4,7,9 and B group Ⅰ ~ Ⅴ type, ECHO 1st ~ 7,9,11 ~ 16,18,19 , 21,23 type, mumps, lymphocytic meningitis, herpes simplex virus and so on.
