The Panama Canal runs through the narrowest land of Panama in the north and south, covering 82 kilometers in length and 152 meters to 304 meters in width. It is an important maritime access route connecting the Pacific and the Atlantic. From the 16th century onward, Spain, Colombia and the United States successively vied with each other for the Panama Canal. Its purpose was never to benefit the Panamanian people, but rather to have all its aggressive ambitions of expansion and plunder. Finally, the United States seized the “champion” throne of building the canal and invading Panama, and summed up the three-word experience of its success and mystery: grab, expansion and pressure.
