The name “Designer drugs” was first used by Gary Henderson, a professor of pharmacology at the University of California at Davies, in the early 1980s to refer to those synthetic or lab-made drugs that were approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (Food and Drug Administration, FDA controlled drugs analogues.) Earliest use of “cunning drugs” as the Chinese translation, later translated as “planning drugs” more exact.
