为探讨突发性聋合理而有效的治疗方法，将１９９４年１月～１９９７年１２月间收治的６０例（６５耳）突发性聋患者随机分为两组（每组各３０例），分别采用自拟“耳聋复聪汤”结合西医方法（即中西医结合方法）和单纯西医方法治疗。结果发现中西医结合方法治疗突发性聋的有效率明显高于单纯采用西医方法治疗的有效率（Ｐ＜０．０５），中西医结合治疗组患者治疗后纯音语言听阈均值（ＰＴＡ）明显低于单纯西医治疗组患者治疗后的ＰＴＡ值（Ｐ＜０．０５）。说明中西医结合方法治疗突发性聋的疗效优于单纯西医治疗。
